Shirley L. Schrolucke

Shirley L. Schrolucke formerly of New Knoxville, OH., died on Friday, July 4, 2014 at 8:45 A.M. at Elmwood Assisted Living of New Bremen.

She was born on July 1, 1929 in New Bremen, Ohio the daughter of the late Robert W. Sr. and Bernice (Laut) Weinberg. On August 17, 1947 she married Robert Schrolucke who preceded her in death on September 10, 2008.

Survivors include her sons Jack and Sara Schrolucke, and Gary and Deb Schrolucke both of New Knoxville, five grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a great-grandchild, and her siblings Molly Nieter, Richard Weinberg, David Weinberg, and Robert Weinberg Jr.

Shirley was a member of the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville, were she was involved in the Woman’s Guild, sang in the church choir, and taught Sunday School for many years. She was a 1947 graduate of New Bremen High School. She was a member of the American Legion Post 444 of New Knoxville. She enjoyed singing at weddings, completing crossword puzzles, reading, wintering in Florida, and spending time with her family. She retired in 1993 from Joint Twp. Dist. Memorial Hospital as the switch board operator, and she had also worked at Schwieterman’s Drug Store and Crown Equipment Corporation, both of New Bremen.
