Lee Kattman

Lee Kattman, 87, of 500 W. South St., New Knoxville, died at 5:27 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016, at Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community.

He was born on March 11, 1929, in New Knoxville, the son of Abner and Salome (Schuler) Kattman.
He married Martha Adams on Oct. 19, 1950, and she preceded him in death on March 14, 2009.

He is survived by his children: Brenda Kattman of Lima; Gary (Beth) Kattman of Greensboro, N.C. He is also survived by one grandson, Michael Kattman of Nashville, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; siblings Tad Kattman, Mark Kattman, and Larry Joe Kattman.
Lee was a 1947 graduate of New Knoxville High School and a graduate of Northwestern Business School in Lima. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Korea during the war there.

He retired in 1994 as the manager of the Hoge Brush Company in New Knoxville.

He was a member of the First Church of New Knoxville, where he had served as a deacon, elder and Sunday School Superintendent of the church. He was a member of American Legion Post 444, New Knoxville.

Lee took great pride in visiting friends and church members as he quietly lived his faith.
