Survivors include, three great-nephews, five great-nieces, five great-great-nephews and seven great-great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters, five nephews, and three nieces.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during World War II. He entered the service in May 1941, and after basic training, served with Co. F, 157th Infantry, Regiment 45 Thunderbirds Division. He sailed overseas in June 1943, and was in the invasion of Sicily and Italy. He served as platoon sergeant, was wounded in February 1944, at Anzio, Italy, and was discharged November 1944. He was awarded the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star, European African Middle East Medal with two Bronze Stars, the Combat Infantry Badge, the American Defense Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the World War II, Efficiency Honor Fideles, Expert Rifleman and Sharpshooter.
